For millenia India has boasted of Mystics capable of performing miracles and exhibiting spiritual Siddhis or Shaktis – such as levitation, mind reading, seeing remote places, flying, materializing objects, living without food and water etc. We have copius documentation from the British and Mughal writers over the past few hundred years about people with such wondrous powers. Most of us, however, have dismissed these as trickery or cheating. Shakuntala Devi (1929-2013) was a math genius who could multiple two random 13 digit numbers in less than 30 seconds. Sri Prahlad Jani (1929 – ) from Ahmedabad demonstrated the ability to live without food or water. The sterling hospitals in Ahmedabad had kept him in a glass room for 15 days and confirmed that he did not take anything and yet there was no change in his weight or metabolism.

The Gurukul is run associated with the University http://sarvajnapeetha.org – which means the “All Knowing Seat of Knowledge”. The University was setup to revive all the ancient arts and mystic sciences including that of the mind – such as telepathy, teleportation etc, and matter – such as flying machines (vimanas), perennial batteries etc which are documented in our scriptures. They have embarked on a huge mission to collect, scan and publish all the palm leaves available in India now so that the little knowledge that is left can be preserved for posterity for research.
